In which case; slavery is still in action — but practiced by those (of all skin colours) in the West who enjoy cheap products and services provided by those elsewhere in the world kept in a perpetual state of poverty. Is this moral? Should we all accept lower living standards to offset slavery elsewhere in the world?

Salient point, everybody is altruistic or a disciple of Marx's "to each his needs," until they have to sacrifice or pay for it.
